Yoga and Qigong
The program includes 1 Hatha Yoga or Qi-Gong class. These are given by a local Yoga teacher / Qi gong teacher. I will offer a Yoga Nidra and/or a Yin Yoga class.
Hatha Yoga
A Yoga to relax and to reduce stress. Through yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayamas) you get control of your body and mind. It improves breathing, coordination, concentration and balance, and reduces stress, making it easier for you to handle and put your daily activities into perspective.
Qi-Gong
A very old Chinese exercise and health form. Consisting of easy-to-learn movements that are performed calmly and fluently. Relaxation exercises that have a very positive effect on physical and mental health. Due to the gentle and calm nature, Qigong exercises are suitable for everyone.
The movements at Hatha Yoga and Qi-Gong are both simple, effective and in tune to the needs of the participants, so everybody can join, with no or a lot of yoga-experience.
The lessons will be offered in the garden, with in the background the sound of birds, the wind and the ocean.
Sometimes the yoga- qigongteacher will take us to the beach to do the class on the sand with oceanview.
All this, together with the warmth of the sun, will bring more relaxation in body and mind.
Yin Yoga
A slow form of yoga for quiet postures and the asanas are held for longer periods of time: three to five minutes. In this way, the connected tissue is slowly stretched and hydrated and the joints remain flexible. This creates space in the connective tissue and joints. Most asanas are done lying down or sitting in a comfortable position.
Yoga Nidra
Means Yoga sleep, and is a systematic method where you, while staying awake, are brought to complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.
Besides deep relaxation, Yoga Nidra also aims to clear your subconscious mind of deep-rooted stress. Tensions that you hold on to, can be processed and your body can completely relax on different levels. It promotes sleep, improves concentration and increases your energy level.
